Legacy Golf Club Details
18 holes par 72 (7164 yards)
Bangkok only hosts one golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, and he designed The Legacy Golf Club in 1989 which was part of the larger Natural Park group of courses. It was earlier referred to as the Natural Park Ramindra Golf Club. Prior to its ownership by the Natural group, Legacy Golf Club was owned and run independently. At that time it was known as the Winsan Golf Club. Situated in the Minburi area near Safari World, the club can be accessed in 40 minutes from Bangkok’s city center.
Frequent visitors to the course include club members, golf visitors and local golfers. The course is well-maintained and is always in good condition even though many rounds of golf are played here. Players will find that caddies on this course are very proficient in their jobs and many a times they are the best compared to other courses in Bangkok. One downside of this golf course is the fact that the area in which it is situated is low-lying. This means that when it is raining, the fairways get clogged with water making them soggy.
The 7,164 yard course can be quite tough for both professional and amateur golfers. This is because of it is surrounded by two lakes. Legacy, like all other courses that have been designed by Jack Nicklaus has numerous wide fairways, tight approaches and waste bunkers. The course designed by Jack Nicklaus stretches for more than 7,100 yards from the ‘Jack’ tees. All levels of players will phase a challenge because of the 5 tee boxes from which they can choose. Nearly half the holes are in close proximity to lakes. Compared with other golf courses in Bangkok like the Thai Country Club and the Alpine, the greens though good can be a bit slow. Deep bunkers surrounding majority of the greens offer them protection. The larger island green of the par-4 16th is quite challenging because water and sand surround it.
The clubhouse at Legacy has a number of function rooms and restaurants. Golfers are assured of receiving good quality service at all times. The restaurants serve delicious, affordable Japanese foods
